This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Having the supplies is crucial for success. Rather than have students' families worry about getting supplies, this would provide a financial relief and prepare students for the new academic year. The supplies will be used to provide organization and encourage the development of study skills to create lifelong learners. Many students lack the appropriate skills needed to be successful in high school. Often unsure how to organize and synthesize notes, how to create concise and brief observations/responses, how to examine and annotate documents. These supplies will help with fostering these new skills whilst providing a pathway for high school success.
This is especially crucial for black, Latino, migrant students from government housing attending a Title I school.
