My Project

What I love about my students is their vibrant diversity and the way they embrace learning with enthusiasm and curiosity. As 7th and 8th graders in a highly diverse Chicago school, they bring unique perspectives and experiences to our classroom, creating a rich tapestry of backgrounds and cultures.

The specific items I'm requesting for this project, such as historical primary sources and different historical perspectives will make a significant difference in their learning by providing them with engaging materials that cater to various learning styles and interests.

These resources will allow my students to explore history in a hands-on way, encouraging critical thinking, empathy, and a deeper understanding of the past.

My goals for this project are twofold: first, to foster a love for history by making it come alive for my students through dynamic resources, and second, to promote inclusivity and cultural awareness by providing materials that reflect the diverse narratives and experiences of historical figures and events.

What makes my students special is their resilience, creativity, and eagerness to learn. Despite facing various challenges, they approach each day with optimism and determination, inspiring me with their passion for knowledge and their capacity to overcome obstacles. They are not just students; they are future leaders, thinkers, and changemakers, and I am honored to be part of their educational journey.
