After completely redesigning my room into multiple learning stations and adding some technology recently, I realized that the next step was to get them to share what they learned with others. The way that we found to share with others is through video segments and podcasts. for those students that do not have their own to bring to class. These Microphones will improve the recording quality and allow others to better hear, and appreciate the quality discussions, analysis, and performances the students give.
My students are both seventh and eighth grade public school ELA students.
I have two 7th grade and two 8th grade classes with a pretty even split of boys to girls ratio. Our school is a Title 1 school and has a population with 41% reduced or free lunch. I have a few students that struggle with ADHD but by putting them in the role of performer they are far more engaged and less prone to falling off track with classroom tasks.
My Project
My students have been learning to show how well they are learning new things by creating video segments and podcasts. The only limits they face come not from the books they read, the lessons they conquered, or the discussions they have to endure with their teacher, but from the recording equipment to better hear their wonderful responses.
An easy to plug in microphone system to go along with the recording devices I already have for the students to use is just what these students need to make the process a breeze.
All of this to simplify and streamline the process of demonstrating their acquired knowledge. Help make this a reality.
