I love my job, and I feel very blessed to teach some of the most extraordinary first graders! Nearly all students at our small rural school in Westville, OK, are considered low income, and most families struggle with providing basic needs.
Despite their daily obstacles, my students come to school full of life and ready to learn.
Each of my kids is special and unique, and that's why I love them so much.
Our classroom is a busy yet happy place where students can learn while feeling safe.
If you were to walk into my classroom, you would not hear silence. You would listen to lots of chatter at stations where students exchange ideas and discuss their learning objectives. You would find me sitting on the floor conversing with students and observing students who may need extra support.
A birthday is a special day, especially to a first-grader.
I want to give each student a special cup on their birthday filled with goodies to celebrate them!
Each cup will contain confetti and a birthday necklace, candle, balloon, smelly eraser, a push pop sucker, and a straw. They will also receive a unique birthday book that they can keep forever.
Everything I do with love, and I want my students to remember a tremendous first-grade experience and remember how much their teacher loves them.
Thank you for considering our classroom birthday project!!
