My Students
I am a co-teacher in an inclusion classroom of 16 very eager learners. They are "beautiful" students in every aspect of the word. Although their socio-economic backgrounds define them as high poverty, crime saddled urban setting, our students still love to read and learn. They love to question. They love to explore everything. The world, in my students' vision, is still a very kind, amusing, funny, and amazing world. Their smiles are contagious. Their hugs are given freely with no demand other than a bigger hug from their teachers!
"A great classroom is not just about learning, it is about creating memories." It is with this in mind that as their classroom teacher, I wish for a learning environment steeped in structure and organization yet, warm and engaging.
A learning environment that would give us more time to create lasting memories of great lessons and creative adventures!
My Project
We need to replenish our classroom supplies to improve and sustain our current learning environment. Years of productive use have depleted our plastic practice sheets, leveled book storage bins, partitions and headphones. Restocking our classroom with these supplies will continue to improve our learning environment.
The individual classroom partitions or "offices", as we commonly refer to them, help each student to focus on their individual work during tests and independent practice work.The plastic sheets help promote environmental consciousness as we do not need to print as much reinforcement work for each student to use and reuse.
