Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are just like me. They go to school in the same neighborhood that I grew up in. They are inquisitive, thoughtful and resilient. They motivate me each and every day to give the best of myself. They remind me that they deserve the very best education possible.
My students are eager to learn.
They waited so long to get their 4th grade school year started. They have witnessed many hardships in their short lives, especially with the natural disaster that swept Houston right before their school year got started.
My Project
Currently, our 4th grade students do not have access to privacy partitions. Our teachers are resourceful and have created some out of laminated folders but these are easily damaged.
Despite adversity, our students have worked extremely hard this semester.
Our start date was delayed due to Harvey but nevertheless, they have shown us how eager they are to learn.
Our 4th graders deserve to have the correct resources in order to be successful. These partitions will foster concentration during assessments and will allow our students to show us what content they have mastered thus far. We would be very grateful if this project were to be funded.
