When the boxes arrived, my pre-kindergarten students' faces lit up with pure excitement. They couldn't wait to open the paints, canvas boards, watercolor paper, and brushes. Our classroom turned into a little art studio filled with color, laughter, and creativity.\r\n\r\nEach child painted the first letter of their name and proudly displayed it in their new art frame. One of my students looked at her finished piece and said, \"I'm going to show this to my mom forever!\" — and that truly summed up what this project meant. The fruit strip snacks you helped provide made our painting day feel like a special celebration, one they'll always remember.\r\n\r\nSince our school doesn't have an art class, this project gave my students a rare and meaningful chance to express themselves and feel proud of their creativity. Thank you for giving them that joy, for helping us make memories that will stay in their hearts for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1752671256228,"projectUrl":"project/making-memories/9255931/","projectTitle":"Making Memories","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gonzalez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7380244_orig.jpg?crop=414,414,x0,y32&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1596344847421","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7380244"},{"teacherId":7380244,"projectId":9177015,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, my students and I have been enjoying our new dry-erase boards, markers, erasers, and mesh bags every single day!\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement in the room was incredible — my students' faces lit up with curiosity and joy as we unpacked everything together. They couldn't wait to start using the new supplies and immediately began brainstorming all the projects we could create.\r\n\r\nNow, the boards are part of our daily routine during lessons, small-group work, and independent writing time. The mesh bags keep everything organized, and my students love having easy access to their materials.\r\nWe've been using the boards for fun writing challenges and word-building games that strengthen both reading and writing skills. My students are more confident, engaged, and excited to learn — all thanks to your generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1752514255246,"projectUrl":"project/writing-on-board/9177015/","projectTitle":"Writing on Board","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gonzalez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7380244_orig.jpg?crop=414,414,x0,y32&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1596344847421","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7380244"},{"teacherId":8301844,"projectId":8701044,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our Headphones for Enhanced Learning and Focus project. I also want to apologize for the delay in getting this letter to you — your generosity has made a big difference, and I appreciate your patience.\r\n\r\nSince every student got their own pair of headphones, things have really improved in the classroom. The kids can focus better without distractions, whether they're listening to reading lessons, watching videos, or working on interactive activities. Having their own headphones means they don't have to wait or share, which helps them stay engaged and take ownership of their learning.\r\n\r\nOne student who usually gets distracted by noise has especially warmed up to the headphones. He told me he can finally \"block out the noise\" and it's been amazing to see how much more confident and focused he's become. It's clear that this small tool is helping the whole class learn in a way that works for them.\r\n\r\nThanks again for your support — it truly means a lot to all of us.","fullyFundedDate":1733345536458,"projectUrl":"project/headphones-for-enhanced-learning-and-foc/8701044/","projectTitle":"Headphones for Enhanced Learning and Focus!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Mojica","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8301844_orig.jpg?crop=2358,2358,x665,y372&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1733586670224","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/nj-mojica"},{"teacherId":7380244,"projectId":8781750,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for helping me to make learning fun for my Pre-K students. When the materials arrived back in September, my students were very excited opening and digging through the boxes. Their little faces full of happiness as they took materials out of the boxes made me feel very grateful with all of you for supporting my project. \r\nMost of the materials are being used for independent work activities. The Counting Toys Number Matching Learning Toys and the JoyCat Ice Cream Preschool Learning Activities Counting and Color Sorting for Kids are as beneficial as fun for the students who are learning one to one correspondence and number recognition. The students get so engaged in the different counting activities that they don't even see it as learning time.\r\n The Aizweb Ice Cream Alphabet Learning Toys, and Letters Matching Ice Cream Alphabet Learning Toys are great for students to promote upper- and lower-case letter recognition and beginning sound production skills. \r\nWith The Thermal Laminating pouches, I was able to laminate loads of name templates, alphabet and number cards, so that they can be use all year long. \r\nWith Teachers Pay Teachers gift card, I was able to get the Spanish version of the Vowels Bingo, rhyming Words Bingo and a Beginning Sounds Bingo. I was also able to get some rhyming, beginning sounds, and syllable game cards for students to practice this skill independently. All these activities are very helpful for the students to enhance their phonological awareness in their first language. These types of activities are very hard to find in regular teacher's stores, for that reason I am extremely grateful for your support.\r\n\r\nI really wish you could see my students' little faces when they are using these materials. They are all engaged, lost in their thoughts, and when the \"aha!\" moment comes, their little faces brighten up. They came to me all happy to let me know what they had just learned; I praise them, and I thank you; I thank you because if it had been for your generous heart, my student would not have had this opportunity.","fullyFundedDate":1726582487056,"projectUrl":"project/making-learning-fun-2/8781750/","projectTitle":"Making Learning Fun 2!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gonzalez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7380244_orig.jpg?crop=414,414,x0,y32&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1596344847421","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7380244"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_18136","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":596,"numTeachers":52,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":96,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":72.1,"schoolId":18136,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Bonner Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Bonner Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/houston-independent-school-district/bonner-elementary-school/18136"}
