Paras Pups Need Chromebooks!

My Students

My students are diligent, mindful, second grade scholars that are hungry to learn! Their enthusiasm and excitement to learn is inspiring me, as their teacher, to feed their appetite to learn. I have 26 students that are unique individuals and a joy to teach. Our Dog-themed classroom is known as a home away from home and as a class, we are known as Paras Pups. We are a Bow Wow Wonderful class that is pretty Paw-some, if I may say so myself! Paras Pups are eager to read and engage daily in our districts Reading Counts program, which is accessed through a computer. There motivation is high to read books, take quizzes and earn points and prizes. They also engage in other reading programs, science, math and keyboarding skill, which are all online. We no longer have a computer lab at our school where my whole class can have access to a computer at the same time. We only have access to 12 computers at a time. This limits the students time to engage in the many educational program available in our district.

My Project

Technology is the lens through which we experience much of our world and is becoming the pen and paper of our time. Chromebooks in the classroom, will increase motivation and engagement through a technology-supported learning environment.

We no longer have a computer lab at our school due to out dated computers and no funding to replace them.

It is essential to have Chromebooks so my students can access technology. The Chromebooks in the classroom will be used both individually and collaboratively.

We need access to technology across the curriculum in multiple disciplines; Reading, writing, math, science and keyboarding skills. My students will be engaging in Google Classroom, Google Docs and Sheets, Mystery Science, STEMScopes, Reading Counts, Read Live, Read Theory, Read Works, McGraw Hill Language Arts, i-Ready, Hearbuilders, and Math curriculum, Reflex Math, Keyboarding without Tears, Kahoot, Class Dojo, Plilckers, Go Noodle, Moby Max, Spelling City and much more. My students will have daily access to the Chromebooks across the curriculum subjects.
