This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach Global History. My school is home to children of extreme poverty, who live in the poorest congressional district in the country.

Recent budget cuts have affected our school and our children very directly.

One of the first areas to get hit was our supplies budget. This year, we were allotted a fifth of that which was already spent on things such as copier paper, books, and pens/pencils. With such a deep budget cut, we now have no money to spend on any other supplies that we rely on during the school year to teach our children.

My Project

There are several essential things we need in our classroom. We need pens, pencils, and loose leaf paper. Without these supplies, we can not participate in basic educational activities. Currently, class time is wasted looking for pens or pencils. These supplies will save class time, allow students to write, create notebooks to reference, etc. These projects greatly enrich their learning and drive them to academic success.

Your help will ensure that all of my students will have an equal opportunity to grow and learn to pursue education within to the fullest within our classroom.
