Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This is a donation request for a social good project implemented by 2 schools. We are both "Lions" and "Tigers" and we are encouraged to ROAR: R- Respect/Responsibility demonstrated, O- On Time Everyday, A- Active Learners, R- Reading Everyday. We focus on Art & Life skills through creativity, teamwork and technology. We have a classroom climate where children develop their leadership skills, pursue their goals and learn to succeed within the education system and in their life/career choices beyond school. We believe our school should be an environment where all students can learn with fair treatment to all. We want students to know that we care about each of them.
My Project
This is a social good project using student and family art work on paper plates to raise money for our local food banks during this critical time of need. Our students at school will all get a plate to put their artwork on and then their family can choose to "buy" more plates (at $1/plate) distributed by our PTA (with a table at our schools) or through our 6th Grade "Paw Patrol" student leaders to turn around and create more art together. (We may stamp the plates with some sort of identification, so people know they come from this program.)
Artwork is created by students during class and should students or families like to donate their artistic plate(s) back...then those plates can be sold at $1 each by the PTA to any interested parties who just want to support the Food Bank.
We will have a family night in February for families to share their stories and designs over Zoom.
