Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our middle school is considered high poverty. Many of the children live below the poverty level. All of the students get free breakfast and lunch. The school has 750 students.
We are located in a rural area of a small town.
The community is hundreds of years old. Families have lived here for many generations. The students I work with have special needs including cerebral palsy, learning difficulties and emotional concerns.
I want to give them every opportunity to learn and grow. The experiences they have in their lives are very limited. As educators, we want to help our students to achieve the most they can. By providing them with the necessary tools, we can help them do their best!
My Project
Having enough copy paper for my students will be a huge boost. Middle school students need to have their own copies of the math to be able to complete their work.
Paper means powerful productivity.
The student will have copies for math. This will enable them to be able to take their math work home with them so they can do it for homework.
The budget for the school district and our school has been cut drastically. The school district limits the amount of copy paper they give to us. We often run out and end up having to purchase paper with our own money.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
