My Students

I am lucky to know the children entering my room this year and I am excited to begin this school year journey with them. My students are so incredible, unique and VERY diverse. Our classroom is populated with students who receive special education services, English Language services and many who receive both. Each one of them never fails to keep me on my toes with their diverse thinking abilities. I grew up in their neighborhood, so I am well aware of the struggles they face. I want to promote a love for the classroom within their hearts and minds. To do this, I need to keep them supplied so they see school as a place that is there to provide for them.

One of my most important goals is to give all students within my class an equal chance.

In order to do this, I myself must by supplied for them to have that chance. I need to be able to create copies of information and charts/posters for reference around the classroom. Many of my students this year, do not speak English and are also of special needs. Reference posters and printed information is crucial to their learning.

My Project

These materials will help tremendously. Each day, I use paper and my students rely on my copies to get through each report card period. Also, our school participates in the Leader in Me program. This program requires a binder that is full of copied paper that teachers are not supplied with. With the Leader in Me binder placed upon my caseload I have found it difficult to financially provide the paper that is needed for the binder and also for general studies. The binder is very beneficial to students as they write down their academic and personal growth goals. Students also create plans to help them reach their goals. A donation from you to help me keep the binders full and also continue providing our educational information. I greatly appreciate any amount you are able to spare and donate to our cause.
