My Project
Physical and Health Education are pivotal classes for the culturally and linguistically diverse students at our Title I Elementary School. Daily physical activity and positive experiences are important but spending a lot of money to exercise and diet is not required.
School is a microcosm of society and within its structure, students learn important lessons about leveraging materials and experiences to develop physical literacy and health skills.
To this end, they are also developing their financial literacy, as they learn to make positive choices about movement and materials that will support a healthy lifestyle on a limited budget. My students could use chart paper, copy paper, and colored printer ink to document their ideas about healthy physical and mental choices and continue to develop the skills needed for physical literacy in the gymnasium.
