Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach preschool in an inner-city school. The majority of the students in my school are from low-income, hard working, large families. Many of my students do not have the resources to be able to come to school prepared to learn.
I would like to help my students feel successful by providing them with a basic supply of a card stock paper. By providing my students with this, children will feel pride and ownership over their writing and feel capable at a very young age.
My goal is to have enough paper to allow children to publish stories, make cards freely at the writing center, and present their portfolios to their parents.
Even though my students are only preschoolers, they will benefit greatly from your generous support. You will be providing them with a solid foundation to step into the world of learning and expression through the writing process, while building their pride and confidence.
