Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Make my classroom a print rich classroom. Students will adorn the paper with their work to hang in class.
My students live in a high poverty area and dedicate no resources on things such as paper.
Their basic needs are barely met at home, so buying paper for classwork isn't exactly what's on their minds. I'd like to remove this extra burden from them by supplying them with quality paper.
My Project
I ordered multiple types of paper. Every type has a specific use. At the pre-algebra phase in their math careers, they'll need to do a lot of graphing. Not having enough graph paper can make a highly effective lesson ineffective. The chart paper is for posters that they will create to hang in the room.
Paper is a very basic need in any classroom.
It's almost like having a swimming pool... if there's no water, then the pool really isn't that great. Giving them the paper they need will allow an effective lesson to occur, ultimately affecting their lives in ways that are unthinkable.
