My Students

The student population that will benefit from this project is my special education and pre-k population. Our school has several special education classes and two pre-k classes. The students in both groups are action packed and require quick paced instruction with hands on manipulatives in order to capture their attention. Each groups lesson includes exploratory activities, creative movement and interactive components to help immerse the students in the musical experience.

My Project

My students are used to hands on instruction and engagement in their music lessons. This year is very different. We can not use cloth materials and need to swap out those items for plastic or paper goods. While those items seem to be cheap in small quantities when purchasing enough for multiple classrooms and multiple uses the cost increases. I know my students will greatly enjoy using hands on safe items for creative movement and interactive lessons. This goal will help them become a part of them music instead of just listening on the side lines.
