Paper Needs Writers!

Help me give my students paper to practice their writing skills and large poster size plain sticky pads for anchor charts so the students can refer to them throughout the year as we go over different academic concepts.

My Students

I love my enthusiastic and compassionate group of 7-8 year olds! My classroom consist of 21 wonderful 2nd graders. We are a Title I and Title II school and our school motto is, "Blazing Our Own Path to Success!". My students are challenged economically but that doesn't dampen their spirit. They are enthusiastic, grateful and kind. I use a lot of Kagan activities and Choice in order to teach them empathy, compassion and how to connect to each other. They are great kids!

My Project

Our school is vastly underfunded and we have run out of copy paper, writing paper and paper to use for anchor charts. These items will help my students understand the writing process by having a chart to reference, paper to practice on and paper to do homework, worksheets to practice grammar, math and science concepts.

Writing is one of the hardest concepts to teach because it is a process and it is a new concept to my second graders and it does take practice.

It also takes a meaningful subject to write about so that writing becomes a joy for them rather than a chore.
