This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a second grade multiple-subject teacher. I am also a MESA (Math Engineering Science achievement) adviser for students from third grade to fifth grade.
I am unable to provide proper practice of skills necessary for success. Without the money for paper and risk of future budget cuts I am unable to meet the high demands of no child left behind. There are so many requirements for teachers but no money to back up the demands of teachers and students. Students are expected to compete with students that have everything when they have nothing. Not even paper to complete assignments!
We need 30 reams of copy paper for homework assignments, reading fluency practice, letters to keep parents informed, and writing.
Please help us with the basic requirements. Without the basic needs being met my students have no chance to succeed. We need paper to practice all of the concepts being introduced in the classroom.
