My Students

My students come from a Title One urban school with 100% of our students receiving free breakfast and lunch. Despite the many challenges my students face both in and out of the classroom, my goal is to create a learning environment that is both safe and productive.

My students are eager to learn.

They come to school with joy, and anticipation for a day of learning. It is the gleam in their eyes, their questions, their readiness, their inquires, and their zeal for learning, that fires up the passion I have to teach and do my best every day.

My Project

Due to budget cuts within the district teachers have to come out of pocket for most classroom supplies. Copy paper is an essential supply for a primary classroom. This is the year students learn to read, write sentences and master fundamental math skills. Copy paper will allow students to practice and use their newly acquired skills. The Index card will allow students to make their own flash cards of their sight words to practice at school and home.

With the district unable to provide each student with workbooks; all independent worksheets, homework and activities must be copied at the teachers expense.
