Help me give my students paper circuits, rice paper, and black markers to create a paper circuit paper lantern art project!! We will connect science with art for this STEAM project!! Thank you for helping us learn!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
After the COVID-19 became a worldwide pandemic schools were forced to close and everyone was required to stay at home. My students' lives were directly impacted by the pandemic and they were left without any real connection to their school community, access to internet, friends, school supplies, art materials.
As a result, teachers are implementing lessons through distance learning activities.
Students are missing out on social, emotional learning as well as academic during this stay at home time. I would like to provide engaging art lessons that can be easily done at home with families. These materials will help students continue learning through school closures and other scheduling uncertainties related to Coronavirus. Items will be delivered to the location chosen by the teacher.
Thank you for your support in the arts and in art education.
My Project
As a visual arts teacher, it is my job to inspire the love of art and creativity to the leaders of tomorrow, as well as instill the passion for arts in all I teach. Among my 600+ students, I had the privilege to integrate Math, Science, Social Studies when the pandemic hit and changed everything. Unfortunately, most of my students' only access to art is at home with a pencil and paper.
Art students will receive paper circuit kits, paper, and markers to create a paper circuit paper lantern.
Each kit has everything they need - a paper circuit (here is where the science comes in), rice paper, and Sharpie markers to help them design and create a paper lantern. What better than during a pandemic for an elementary grade child to be able to have access and practice their art and learn about science at the same time!
