This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are in a 12:1+1 special education classroom in the South Bronx. Many of my students have learning disabilities. The school is located in a high poverty area.
My students are faced with hardships everyday, yet they come to school eager to learn.
Despite obstacles put in their way, my students strive to reach their potential. School is their safe haven where I strive to provide them with all the knowledge I can with the resources that are available to me.
My Project
Paper is an essential supply that my classroom is running out of. I use copy paper on a daily basis to print differentiated worksheets, checklists, flashcards and sentence frames for my students. These items are all necessary for my special needs students. I try to provide them with as many printed resources as I can so that they can accomplish their tasks and goals. I am running out of copy paper which means that I won't be able to provide my students with these printed resources on a daily basis.
The variously sized envelopes are used for my students to organize and store flashcards for different math and reading units.
This helps them to easily store and find their flashcards when needed.
