My Students
My students are so excited to return to school and get back to having hands-on STEAM experiences in our Innovation Lab. We will delve into 3D printing, robotics, and programming, as well as many other hands-on projects. It is so fun to watch their faces light up when they see the results of their own creations.
The students are curious and creative, imaginative, and innovative.
I love hearing their new ideas. We are a diverse school with many cultures and languages, and STEAM experiences are great at bringing everyone together for a common goal.
My Project
This year I have students who are coming to school every day, as well as students who are learning from home. It is extremely important to me to be able to provide an equal opportunity for learning for both of these sets of students. Also, since the learning experience this year requires so much computer time, I feel it is especially important for them to be provided with STEM supplies to be able to do hands-on activities.
This project will focus on what the students can create with paper.
Younger students will read "If I Built a House" and "If I Built a Car" and use cardstock templates to create their own designs. Older students will design more complex designs, including custom airplanes as we learn about Amelia Earhart. This project will provide supplies to be used for a wide range or projects and grade levels, for students both at-school and at-home. The mailing labels are used to label the packets to send home with the students.
