Help me give my students paper and tissues. Our school no longer has paper left in order to make copies for students to work! Tissues to help cold season!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My students walk into our classroom each day with an attitude to learn and try their best. They know that in our classroom, they can fail without anyone laughing at them, be successful without people making fun of them for doing well, and try new things out in a safe environment. They know that the teacher supports them no matter what and will help them out in any way, whether that means helping them get something to eat or clean clothes to wear each and every day.
The students in my classroom come from lower socioeconomic families.
The typical student in my class struggles with phonics skills and will not meet the end of year reading benchmark level. The opportunity and achievement gaps are very apparent among my student population as well as the entire school. Students have experienced severe trauma that sometimes stifles their learning. Inclusion teachers are expected to have high-quality classrooms and teach to a high-quality standard without the proper means to do so. No student should suffer.
My students need boxes of paper so that I can copy their daily activities. My school is in a low socioeconomic part of town and our school has no more money to provide paper for the teachers. Without paper, I will not be able to copy daily phonics practice, math practice and other activities. Students will not have homework packets to practice their skills at home.
These materials are crucial for student success!
The tissues will help fight the winter cold season that comes every year. Students use a large amount of tissues on a daily basis. Having a supply of tissues would allow my students to have access to what is needed to help blow their nose or clean up a mess.
Thank you for considering donating to my project. The paper and tissues is crucial for my students this time of year.
