My Students
My class is full of students who are eager, excited, and motivated to learn. I teach a first-grade gifted and talented class at a large public school in New York City. There are thirty-two children in the class, all amazing thinkers with diverse needs and a wide range of abilities. They have a variety of interests and a love for learning. Their interests spread throughout all areas of literacy, math, science, social studies, and technology. They love learning through hands-on and interactive activities.
My Project
During this year of hybrid learning, my students need to stay socially distanced from their friends, but we are still finding lots of ways to have fun!
We are in need of printer paper, colored paper, and multicultural colored paper to use during some fun and creative art projects.
We also need new plastic bins that will be used to hold centers' materials for learning through play. Usually, these materials can be shared among groups of students, but this year we are storing them in individual bins so that the students can play safely on their own. The bins we have in our classroom now are beginning to break and fall apart. These bins are sturdier and see-through, which will make it easier for my students to identify what is inside of them. I am also requesting Post-it Easel Pads, which are a much-needed tool to be able to move learning posters around the classroom for my students to see from their desks.
