My students need copy paper and pencils for classwork, homework, parent newsletters and much, much, more.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Y. Nelson's classroom raised $464
This project is fully funded
My Students
Can you imagine a classroom without paper or pencils? I cannot either. Paper and pencils are a precious commodity in the classroom. They are used daily and are tools that students should not be forced to do without.
"I am the proud teacher of 24 lovely third graders this year at a Title One elementary school in Washington, DC.
Although considered a low income school, the students I teach are high achievers. They are in a dual language program in which they are learning all of their subjects in both English and Spanish.
My Project
While I work very hard to engage my students in challenging and enriching instruction, I sometimes find it very difficult to do so without the necessary supplies, like paper and pencils. It may seem trivial to some, but these supplies are ones that you simply cannot have enough of in the classroom. We use them for a variety of purposes like daily handwriting, reports, artwork, parent notes and newsletters, projects, journal assignments, and so much more.
Yes, teachers at our school are supplied with a minimal amount of paper and pencils each school year.
However, this supply is definitely not enough to last an entire school year so we need your help. Please help provide a resource to my students that will allow them to have the most basic tools in the classroom, paper and pencils. Thank you for considering my proposal.
