My Students

We're a highly sought-after neighborhood school that serves families from all types of backgrounds. We have students that wake up each day knowing they're loved and will be well cared for, and we have others who aren't so fortunate.

Our kids come in every shade of the human rainbow and embody all that is beautiful about childhood.

We have kids with learning and emotional disabilities, kids living in poverty, kids who are identified as gifted, kids we love. We meet each child where he or she is, and we support them as they grow into the individuals they are meant to be. They are special and unique individuals, but not without their challenges.

My Project

Our classroom is an extremely active and creative place. You may find us creating models of pyramids, lift-the-flap reports, electrical circuits, or watercolor paintings. We print out stories, poems, and learning games. We cut, glue, paint, and create often, and with everyone participating, we go through consumable materials fairly quickly.

For a teacher, there are few things worse than not being able to share a valuable learning experience with students because we simply don't have the necessary supplies.

Students have a natural curiosity and desire to learn, and it's our job to feed that curiosity and desire. Sharing meaningful hands-on opportunities with students is a tried and true way to do that.

Having the supplies we need so we can freely create would be a huge support for our classroom. We are so lucky to be part of a school culture that values creativity and student expression. Having the time and tools to fully take advantage of those learning opportunities is key to our students' academic and social-emotional growth.
