Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As we begin the adventure of starting a school store, we want to make our students use this opportunity to learn about fiscal responsibility and financial literacy. By having our younger students realize the amount of money they will need to buy the item they would like, and our older students administering and running the store, we hope to have our students gain the real world knowledge they will be able to bring into their real world experiences.
To run a store, financial technology is important.
Students will learn to understand money in its basic form of financial responsibility. We will need a cash register to track sales and safely organize and store paper money and coins. A thermal printer will allow us to create tags for our sale items. The addition of an adding machine will allow them to keep inventory and settle the register at the end of each session.
