Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Creating a comfortable and resource-rich environment for my students, especially those from low-income backgrounds, is crucial for their learning and development. Let's start with having a cozy reading area. Having a bean bags in our reading area will bring comfort to my students. This area will be so helpful for reading diversity. For the materials, providing each student with pencils, notebooks, pens, erasers, and glue sticks ensures they have everything they need at hand, plus, some materials for our STEM activities. Dry erase markers are excellent for interactive learning activities on whiteboards or laminated sheets. Additionally, incorporating manipulatives and visual with number fractions helps for hands-on learning experiences. For low-income students, access to these materials might be limited outside of school, so providing them can make a significant difference. Also, including storage solutions to keep everything organized and easily accessible is crucial. By creating a supportive environment filled with engaging materials, we're setting our students up for success in our summer school program and beyond.
