Painting Supplies for New Pre-K Classroom

Help me give my students art supplies for better hand-muscle coordination and strength for pre-writing skills as well as a sense of pride in creating original works of art.

My Project

Many young hands have not acquired adequate strength to begin early writing. Art opportunities in a preschool classroom provide muscle-strengthening activities. Preschoolers not only enjoy the practice of creating art with vibrant colors and a variety of tactile materials, their young hands NEED the muscle-building activities that expression through art provides.

The act of holding and controlling a paintbrush, directing where and how to apply the materials, and seeing immediately the cause and effect of one's movements provides these children the opportunity to build finger grip and hand strength, improved hand-eye coordination, and increased spacial awareness.

A multi-use tabletop easel using different mediums such as whiteboard markers, chalk, or paint provides a variety of activities for their development and creativity. The drying rack is also a space saver and mess preventer in a classroom where multiple activities are taking place at once as 30 art projects are drying.
