My Students

I'm ready to work hard this school year. My students are ready as well. Help us have the materials necessary to have a successful year and continue with this enthusiasm and motivation to learn all year long!

I am a teacher in a school that services students who come from low income working class families that live in or close to one of Los Angeles low income housing complexes.

My students are some of the most creative 1st graders you can ever meet. They are smart enthusiastic learners who enjoy learning and listening to stories read to them

My Project

My students need a variety of materials to help them succeed this school year. The first items that I am requesting are the seat storage sacks. These sacks will help my students organize and store their books that do not all fit inside their desk. Next I would like a director's chair. This chair will be used during "Reader's Theater" during this time, my students will have their time to shine by sitting on this special chair and reading to their classmates. I would also like face paints. Last year I used face painting a couple of times for motivation with my students. Face painting a couple of times a year helped them complete their work, and improve in their behavior. I would like to use this as a regular method for motivation in my class this year. The last thing that will help my students have a successful year is a projection screen. I need a screen so that along with an Elmo and projector, my students can view worksheets and work samples during whole group lessons on it.

There are many things needed in my class to organize, motivate and help my students achieve this school year.

With your help, my students will have a great beginning this school year and continue to grow as the school year progresses. Thank you.
