Painting Positive Messages

My Students

My student council students are working to promote a positive culture and climate in our building which is 6th -12th grade. Our students are mostly from low to middle-income families. Many of my students work after school jobs to buy supplies they need for school or to help out their families.

I love my students and school, but I would go broke trying to buy everything I would like in my classroom and our building.

Our school is located in a rural area with very little industry to contribute to tax revenue for the school, so teachers must purchase most of their supplies and materials out of pocket.

My Project

My Student Council students would like to be able to create a warm welcoming environment in our school. We need paint and brushes to be able to achieve our goal of spreading positive messages throughout our building. Student Council students will paint banners to display in the hallways, bathrooms, locker rooms, and other areas to help promote a positive culture in our building.

Paint and brushes would enable Student Council students to create positive messages to post in the hallways, classrooms, locker rooms, bathrooms, and other areas of the school.

My students are excited about the possibility of adding their own personal touches to our building; my Seniors are thinking of this as leaving behind a message for incoming students to always read.
