My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences. I want to introduce them to all types of art and different ways to express themselves. They are mini inspirations to themselves and others around them, even if they don't know it yet.

My Project

Please help me supply my students with canvases and mural/acrylic paint to help create paintings and murals to create beautiful additions to our school walls. Currently our walls are bare and we would really like to add some color to our school. For this project I asked for a variety of different sizes of canvases intended for different class grades. I intend to ask the students what they want to see in the hallways before we start painting. I have seen how choice can positively affect my students work and demeanor and have hope that giving them choice of what to make will let them grow even more.

Beautifying the school walls with student work will encourage, motivate and enhance creativity within our students.
