it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am so excited to use these writing journals so that I can develop passionate writers and readers in my classroom. As emergent writers, often times it is difficult to write on normal lined paper. I would like to minimize the frustration by using paper that is large enough to help with letter formation, word spacing, and of course illustrations. I am hoping to use these journals as evidence of student growth. I think it will be a neat way to display student work. I look at it as my students' first ever publications.
I would like to empower my students to paint colorful pictures with their writing.
I strongly believe that writing and reading go hand in hand. One needs the other in order to develop. I aim to build a passion for writing so that my students can show even more interest in learning to read. Who knows, later on we can switch journals and read each other's work.
