Painting Calms My Soul

My Project

Painting calmed the chaos that shook my soul. -Niki de St. Phalle. And this is so true for my students. A child's mental health directly impacts their physical well-being, their social relationships, and their ability to experience academic success. Many of my students experience anxiety and depression.

Painting can provide a sense of calm, comfort, and joy.

It allows children to use shape, form, and color to express themselves in ways they do not have words for yet. Painting boosts self-esteem and inspires people to reach new levels of skill. Painting also produces a relaxing, open environment where children feel safe to explore their creativity.

Through this project, my goal is to provide a path for children to boost their self-esteem, feel safe to explore their feelings, and discover their creativity. This project will empower my students to reduce the chaos and provide them with a healthy option to deal with feelings, and experience success.
