"Color is a power which directly influences the soul." - Wassily Kandinsky. This is why my students need high-quality paints to create luminous colors that jump off the page and into the hearts and souls of their viewers.
The students in my Honors Painting class are a motivated group of kids that come from a large urban environment.
They travel up to three hours each day on public transportation to get to and from school, and then spend hours after school involved in sports, ethnic clubs, and working part-time jobs. These students have already taken one year of beginning art class. In this course we get to focus on developing stronger painting skills over two semesters. All the projects they complete are designed to become potential portfolio pieces for college admissions and art scholarships.
My Project
My Honors Painting students need a set of water-soluble oils to create brilliantly colored and evenly-blended paintings. Students often struggle to mix contrasting colors because the paints they use have a matte finish and limited pigment content. With water-soluble oils, students get all of the brilliance of standard oil paints without the toxicity of chemical solvents. Blending is a challenge for any student to learn, but it is especially hard when the paints they are using dry in a matter of seconds. Water-soluble oils stay mixable for up to a day. This allows students to work additional colors into their painting instead of completely painting over whole sections of their piece.
These high-quality water-soluble paints will turn my students' ordinary paintings into extraordinary masterpieces.
My students will feel more confident in their artistic abilities and extremely proud of their finished paintings.
