Mrs. Crawford Stewart from Newark DE is requesting art supplies through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students the joy of painting! This is my fourth year at my school and we have been working hard on our painting skills. My students love to paint! We are almost out of paint! Help!

The student population at my school comes from all different cultural backgrounds and ranges from middle-class households to homeless households. Despite their many challenges, the students at my school continue to model hard work when it comes to making art.
My students are highly creative and motivated to make art.
I am amazed each and every day by their ability to think outside of the box and use their own experiences to add details to their artwork. My students deserve to have a chance to experience the joys of art-making, in order to help them achieve confidence in themselves!
I have to say, my favorite thing ever is the look of pure joy that spreads across the faces of my students when I announce that today, we will be painting! In my going-on-four years at our school, we have painted often. We have almost completely depleted our supply!
Painting is stress-relieving for my students.
When they have a brush in hand, they are quiet, focused, and at peace. We have studied many different techniques when it comes to painting, so my students feel confidence in themselves as artists when it comes to this art form.
I have many projects planned that require paint. We will be creating and painting Native-American inspired drums and totem poles. We will be creating dot-paintings in reference to Aboriginal art. We will also be painting large landscapes and adding textures.
