We have a wonderful community of students and families, but access to resources and funding of extra-curricular supplies is difficult for many families in town.
I would love to provide our students with a creative opportunity to spread kindness and joy with the necessary supplies needed at no cost to them. Students will be encouraged to explore themes and research quotes that may enhance their rocks to their fullest; while spreading a message of kindness that is most valuable to them.
This Painted Kindness Rocks Club will meet once a week for the remainder of the school year. The supplies we would need include paint, various-sized brushes, colorful Sharpie markers, and smooth stones (river rocks).
My Project
The students will be able to paint these stones and create a rock garden in a prominent location at the school for everyone to enjoy. Children will take pride in seeing their art enhance the school grounds as well as spreading kind messages! Students will also be able to place their painted rocks in locations throughout our town with inspirational messages written on them. The rocks will also be labeled with a Facebook link encouraging those who find the rocks to take a photo of the rock/message and post it online. Sharing the student artwork and heartfelt messages is bound to have a positive impact on our community and bring a smile to everyone who encounters a painted rock. Any support is very much appreciated! We will PAY IT FORWARD!
