Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a school social worker, I have the privilege of working with all students K-8th grade. My students are faced with everyday challenges in a high poverty and community violence. Yet. my students demonstrate resilience through their determination to learn.

All my students are diverse learners and are inspired to explore and discover.

I am honored to work with a wide range of students with a variety of strengths. Each day, they persevere against all odds to reach their full potential.

My Project

All my students enjoy opportunities to learn and express themselves. Providing a creative outlook on social-emotional development, they will begin to explore their feelings about themselves and build emotional competencies. My students will use these supplies to produce colorful projects that showcase themselves. The projects will be a physical visualization of their goals and dreams. They will discover personal strengths and social skills that assist in their achievement of academic and social success. Additionally, my students will enhance emotional regulation by means of mindfulness painting. They will be able to be present at the moment to establish stillness to help them focus on academic needs.
