Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach at a Title I school located in a predominately Hispanic and African American neighborhood. While my students may be short on funds, they are rich in ideas and creativity. Art provides them with validation, expression, and imaginative freedom.
My Project
Elementary students love to paint as it provides them with a meditative feeling of being in total control. Students often complain that the colors available to them are too “boring” or “not cool enough.” These Tempera cakes provide a more cost effective way to introduce younger students to the art of painting, and the inclusion of neon alternatives will definitely spark their creativity and imagination. These easy to clean paints offer students a myriad of options while creating, and are great for painting landscapes, geometric and organic shapes, and gradients.
