Paint Sticks and Watercolors

My Students

I teach Pre-K, ages 3 to 5 years. All of my students have overcome adversities or live with trauma or a special need. Most of my students live in poverty. I have many students that live with foster families or have open DCFS cases. I individually try to bond with each family and put my best foot forward to get them the intervention services they need. My students are a blessing to me because each one has a special place in my heart.

I believe these students will achieve their goals in life through education and have bright futures.

I set individual goals for each student. I focus many of my lessons on science and math. These students are very young, and it is up to me to set their educational foundations.

My Project

My 34 preschoolers love to paint, and these materials will go into their individual art boxes to promote creative expression and fine motor development. Since we returned to school all supplies can only be used individually.

We will use these art paint sticks and watercolors to paint during free choice time and to paint beautiful pictures while learning.

My class is learning to write names, and these paint sticks will help with fine motor development and strengthen their fingers for early learning fine motor development. Our class loves to create pictures independently, and these paint sticks will give them the option to paint with little mess and safely create painted pictures. Each student will choose what sticks they want to place in their art box and use them when they feel they want to paint.
