My Students
I am a first year visual arts teacher to over 600 K-8 students in their homeroom classroom for 40 minutes once per week. My students are eager for the special time of the week where they get to make masterpieces.
We come to school dressed our best, and we want to leave without a mess on our clothes.
My students are special because they learn in TWI English/Spanish. They really enjoy getting their hands dirty and trying their best to create inspired by art history and read aloud.
My Project
My students will use these smocks every chance to protect their clothes when we make art. There will be enough smocks for a set of students at the K-5 school and a set of students at the 6-8 school.
What do materials like ink, paint, watercolors, pastel, markers have in common?
They are really MESSY! We look forward to our art class once a week but we need to keep our clothes clean so our moms and dads don't get sad.
We will be able to use these smocks every art class. They are cotton. They will be durable, long lasting, and they can be washed too.
