Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
What I love most about my students is their resilience and eagerness to learn despite the many challenges they face. My classroom is filled with bright, curious minds who come to school each day ready to try their best. Many of my students come from low-income, single-parent households, and attend a Title I school where resources are limited. A large number are English learners or have learning disabilities and many lack access to basic technology at home. Yet, they show up with determination, creativity, and a willingness to grow. I am inspired daily by their ability to overcome obstacles and their desire to succeed.
Each resource donated will have a direct and meaningful impact on my students’ learning.
In particular, a classroom printer and toner will allow me to provide individualized learning materials, visual supports, and modified assignments that meet each student’s unique needs. Whether it’s printing leveled reading passages for English learners or graphic organizers for students with learning challenges, having access to a printer will enable me to differentiate instruction more effectively and eliminate the barrier of technology access. It also allows me to send printed learning tools home, empowering families to support their children’s education outside of the classroom.
If this project is funded, my goals are:
1. To increase student engagement by providing accessible, printed resources tailored to individual learning needs.
2. To support literacy and language development through printed vocabulary cards, reading passages, and bilingual materials.
3. To strengthen home-school connections by sending printed learning materials home for continued support and practice.
