Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This project brings powerful, authentic Black voices into the classroom through thoughtfully chosen books that highlight the history, culture, and contributions of Black individuals and communities.
These stories help students understand the resilience, creativity, and strength that have shaped generations, while also addressing the challenges and injustices faced.
For all students, they build empathy, cultural awareness, and a more accurate understanding of American history. By engaging with these texts through reading, discussion, and reflection, students will learn to value diversity, challenge stereotypes, and appreciate the richness of Black heritage. This project helps foster a more inclusive classroom where every voice is heard, every story matters, and every student is empowered to make a difference.
