My Project
I am building a year long bundle of interactive notes for my math students. This project will go towards funding key topic: guided notes, foldables, and other printable pages for students to complete and glue or staple into their notebooks.
Students will build understanding and retain essential math skills with interactive notebook pages.
My middle schoolers are eager to learn and each student has a composition notebook they use solely for math purposes. These notebooks are stored in the back of the classroom and students pull them out at the beginning of each class period and use them for taking notes. Students may refer back to their notes at anytime to help jog their memory or refer to the next step in solving an equations.
Examples include guided notes on sin, cos, and tan trigonometry principals for finding the side length or angle measure in a right triangle. Or using slope to find the equation of a line.
Some printables include three-dimensional (3D) options like geometry nets. notes can be printed in different colors and then students attach string to the corners of the 3D nets. When the string is pulled the net forms a shape such as sphere, triangular pyramid or cube.
The interactive aspect of these notebooks helps student to visualize the key concept, makes for fun classroom activities that aid in the retention of their math skills.
By the end of the school year, each student will take home a composition book filled with key math concepts they learned throughout the year.
