My Project
As a special education teacher here at Lanai. We are dissecting the data of our students that way we know how can we able to support and provide quality instructions. One of the most needs is their reading comprehension. We envision to bridge this gap so they can reach their full potential
Our project centers around the Orton-Gillingham approach, a proven method for teaching reading, particularly for students with dyslexia and other reading challenges.
We aim to purchase a set of Orton-Gillingham books that will provide targeted instruction tailored to the diverse needs of our learners.
In addition to these invaluable books, we also plan to incorporate reading manipulatives and games that make learning fun and engaging. These hands-on tools will allow students to explore phonics, vocabulary, and comprehension in interactive ways, reinforcing their skills while sparking their enthusiasm for reading.
To create a positive and inviting learning environment, we will also provide snacks to keep our students energized and focused during reading activities. We believe that a well-fed mind is a more receptive one!
