Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My second grade students have developed a genuine love for reading, and it's been incredible to watch their growth this year. One of the biggest contributors to their success has been access to engaging books that truly capture their attention and motivate them to read more. Many of my students have found their spark through graphic novels, stories that are fun, visually appealing, and perfectly suited to their reading level. These books have not only built their confidence, but have also transformed reluctant readers into eager ones.

To continue nurturing this love of reading, I am hoping to expand our classroom library with more high-interest, "just right" graphic novels and engaging readers.

This project would directly put these powerful reading tools into my students’ hands, helping them grow as readers while continuing to enjoy the magic of books. Adding these books to our classroom library will help keep my young readers inspired and excited to turn the page!
