Packs Full of Learning Part 2

My students need 21 Seat Packs for their chairs. With so many new text books, work books, notebooks, and supplies, their desks are too cramped and "FULL OF LEARNING."

My Students

Every day I remind my students how brilliant they are as they work to make meaningful connections to the curriculum. Together, we explore a wide array of content, from math to writing to reading and social studies; we are busy, busy learners!

My students are a wonderful group of Kentucky fifth graders who are just beginning to discover how smart they truly are!

My class is a fantastic blend of various racial and ethnic backgrounds with many students who fall below the poverty line. Many of my students have struggled in previous grades and are building their confidence as they find success within the walls of my classroom. I believe all students can learn...and I know these students can excel!

My Project

As the new Common Core standards have rolled out, teachers (and students) are finding themselves in a very fast-paced learning environment. With new classroom materials, textbooks, workbooks, and school supplies to enhance student learning, our students are literally running out of room to put everything! We all know how uncomfortable it feels to scramble for needed items right before a meeting or an appointment...it stressful and causes us to worry. I want to eliminate the worry, the disorganization and the clutter for my students...so that everything they need can be easily found. By incorporating chair pockets, students can better transition from one subject to the next throughout the day without scrambling for their needed supplies. The result: more confident students who are prepared for learning and less distracted by misplaced items. These chair pockets will be used every day, all day as a personal organization for students' notebooks, folders, agendas, books and more!

It would make such a difference from my students by giving them a fresh new organizational system beyond their cramped desks. More importantly, it's a reminder to my students of just how SPECIAL they each are. It reminds them that the "grown-ups" in this world BELIEVE that each of them can SUCCEED and make a DIFFERENCE in our world! Thanks for considering us.
