My Students

My students reside in a Title One urban district.

Each student has the opportunity to receive free breakfast and lunch. My students want to learn, they are eager to experience more modern art. They have studies the fine art "masters" and are excited to learn more about current artist that they can relate to.

My Project

Students will be able to use these materials; packing tape and dispensers to learn how to create a piece if installation art and how to create sculptures of the human form. They will learn the process involved in creating installation art by being part of a group. Each group member will have a specific function, designers, models and creators. Once the project is complete all students from the school will be able to interact with the artwork. Students will study a current street artist Mark Jenkins and become inspired by his artworks.

Art is very subjective, this project will allow my students the opportunity to create art that is current and relevant to the pop culture of their generation.

This type of art work will make the student creators and viewers question the completed artworks. What is this? Why and what are the artists trying to convey?
