This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
At our school, we have an amazing group of students ranging from ages 3 to 4 years old in a pre-kindergarten classroom. As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, I see that my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. They come into our classrooms every day, eager to learn, ready to take on new and challenging tasks, and excited for what is in store. My students are eager to learn and enjoy reading, math, and hands-on projects. I want them to feel safe and know they can accomplish anything if they apply themselves. I will have the opportunity to bond with my students and learn all of their many personalities. These items will allow them to be creative in their own way and learn how to express themselves through creativity.
My Project
The transition to school is hard enough for some kids. I would love to help make this process a little smoother by supplying a backpack full of materials they need to make their first day awesome!
This backpack full of school supplies will help my students feel confident and get them one step closer to big kid school.
I want all my students to be able to go into kindergarten with all the advantages possible so they have the best experience and continue their love of learning. Funding this project will help make 18 students prepared for a wonderful adventure!
