Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students are motivated when their work is seen by their peers and families. It is the cathartic release of stress when the art work is done and the struggle found in the creative process becomes the joy of presentation.
Different formats of visual art in the form of t-shirts and buttons along with the original artwork allow students to share their work with the community at large.
The presentation of their work for fundraising in these formats also give further validation of the purpose that can be found in their work.
Once it is up and running, I hope to integrate the PACE Pop up Shop and Gallery into the curriculum on an ongoing basis and eventually create an afterschool program to incorporate students that do not have Visual Arts as an elective.
